Jeff S. Cosman
Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Jeff S. Cosman has more than 10 years experience in the solid waste industry from local operations up to corporate accounting and finance with Republic Services (NYSE:RSG) and Browning Ferris Industries (NYSE: BFI). Mr. Cosman holds a B.B.A. in Managerial Finance and Banking & Finance, as well as a Bachelors of Accountancy from the University of Mississippi. Mr. Cosman was drafted by the New York Mets and played professional baseball in the minor leagues from 1993-1996. Mr. Cosman is the son of Jim Cosman, Sr., former President & COO of Republic Services. Jeff Cosman played an active role during the consolidation of Republic Services, specifically in the accounting consolidation, initial cultural integration and the reporting to Wall Street when they acquired 168 companies in 30 months, going from $500 million in Revenue to over $2.1 billion. Mr. Cosman spent over 10 years investing in start-ups and being active in Sales and Leadership Roles in the Medical Device Industry.
Mr. Pilewicz combines over 16 years of experience in Energy, Healthcare, Industrial Manufacturing, Technology and Financial Services senior management. During this time frame he held positions including President, CEO, Senior Vice President Human Resources, Vice President of Sales and a Member of the Board. From 2009 through October 2017, Mr. Pilewicz was the President of Esmark, Inc., a privately-held company, as well as Chief Executive Officer of Esmark Industrial Group. From 2006 to 2008, he was Senior Vice President for Esmark, Inc., a public company (NASDAQ: ESMK) involved in the manufacturing of steel as well as a steel service center. From December 2003 to December 2006, he was Vice President of Sales, for UnitedHealth Group, a public company (NYSE: UNH), and their financial services entity, Exante Financial Services, focusing on convergence of healthcare and financial services. From 1986 to 2003, he was Vice President of PNC Bank, NA with responsibilities that included being a Lending Officer, and Treasury Management Sales Manager. Mr. Pilewicz was also a member of the Board of Directors of Esmark, Inc., from 2009 to 2017. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from the Pennsylvania State University.
Chief Financial Officer
Chris Diaz was most recently responsible for ensuring accurate and timely completion of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process for Advanced Disposal Services, Inc. (NYSE:ADSW), while managing accounting policies, procedures and internal control within a SOX-compliant environment. His experience also includes performing due diligence and subsequent purchase accounting for numerous acquisitions. He has also held financial reporting and auditing positions with CSX Transportation and Skinner Nurseries, Inc. Mr. Diaz began his career as an auditor with the national accounting firm McGladrey & Pullen, LLP.
Chief Operating Officer
Mark Schifani is an accomplished leader with significant business acumen in finance, sales, market development and operations. A team-oriented professional with 27 years of experience creating business sustainability across multiple disciplines. An energetic and service-oriented leader who consistently demonstrates desire to lead by example. Whose deed follows his word. Strongest aptitude is in developing the business processes and talented people to build, grow and engage teams to perform to the expected results. Mark is a graduate from the University of Memphis with a Bachelors Degree of Business Administration in Accounting. Mark has held numerous positions in the waste industry, including Region Controller, Assistant Corporate Controller and also enjoyed his time in Market Development. Most of Mark's career was with BFI and Republic Services, where he was awarded the Finance Leader of the Year (2013). As Region Controller, Mark was responsible for $750 million in revenue, 50 locations across 6 states and over 2000 employees.
